Sydney is a writer, small business owner, and avid knitter. Her book, The Joy of Soulful Knitting: Reflections on the Art of the Craft, deals with the connection between knitting and spirituality and is available for purchase online. She enjoys writing about issues facing women over 40 as they navigate through the second act of their lives, celebrating self-awareness, creativity, and spirituality. She blogs about her thoughts on living, learning, and loving at New Calling and has also published essays at DivorcedWomenOnline and Kalon Women. Sydney also writes about a variety of topics at Suite101.com including spiritual development, finances, crafts, and living simply with style.
She lives in Virginia and is the proud mother of a daughter serving in the U.S. Armed Forces and a very handsome cairn terrier puppy named Bailey. Other interests include music, movies, reading, traveling, and spending quality time with special friends.
Sydney also runs a small knitting ministry that knits prayer shawls for women who are survivors of sexual violence.
